This weekend one of my best buds, Emily, came to hang out with us for the weekend. She lives in St. Louis so it was pretty special to have her around KC with us. One of the highlights of the weekend was going to Applefest with Emily and my mom. Applefest is everything you would want in a fall festival: located in small town America (Weston, Missouri), GREAT food, perfect weather, and fall festivities. While at Applefest I really tried to experience everything apples have to offer; I had an apple brat, apple cider, and most notably I ate an apple dumpling, which you can see next to the ice cream in the picture below. Oddly, we didn't see a place where we could buy just plain apples. I was pumped to buy a bunch so I could start making apple crisp and they were no where in sight. Weird, don't you think?
