Grandpa Meyer and Grandma Jean

We had such a great time with Grandma Jean and Grandpa Meyer (Tom's parents) this past weekend.  The grandparents were able to meet Asher for the first time, Everett got to do some serious playing, Asher had his first outing ever, and we all enjoyed a fall treat--a visit to the pumpkin patch.  Grandpa Meyer and Grandma Jean ("Bapa and Banma Jean" as Everett calls them) drove in from Oklahoma and arrived Saturday morning.  We only had a day together but we lived up every moment we had!  Like I said earlier, it was so much fun!
Meeting Baby Asher.

Grandma Jean and Grandpa brought Everett some books. We have been reading them nonstop since then!

We were going to go ride the choo choo train, but when we arrived we realized they are only open May-September! Huge bummer!  We improvised and took Everett to the next best thing, the "Choo Choo Park" (English Landing Park).  This is the park where an "actual Choo Choo train" (E's words) drives by while we play on the playground.

Tom is carrying Asher to the park for his first outing since leaving the hospital!

Everett LOVED playing with Grandpa and Grandma Jean.

Asher loved hanging out at the park.

This is the moment Everett realized the train was getting ready to come by.  More choo choo!

Watching the train go by (you can see it behind the trees in the distance).
Baby Asher supporting the Tigers on their big win! After the park we went to Stone Canyon Pizza and watched the first half of the game.  Go Tigers!
After E's nap time we went to Carolyn's Pumpkin Patch.  Everett got to ride the train with Grandpa and Grandma Jean while Mommy, AJ, and Daddy took in the sites.
Choo choo time!

Giant pumpkins!

Our first pic as a family of four.  It was on the "hayride" to the pumpkin patch (mysteriously, there was no hay on the hayride).

Ever since Grandma Jean and Grandpa left Everett has been going around the house yelling, "Bapa...Banma Jean...where are you?" Needless to say, we loved being with Tom's folks and we all are missing them!

Everett and Asher

We have had a lot of questions about how Everett and Asher compare to one another in size.  When Everett was born he was 9lbs. 12 oz. and 22.5in and he was born at 39 weeks.  Asher weighed in at 8lbs. 11oz. and 20.75in long and he was born at 38 weeks. Here are some picture comparisons too:

Everett

Although these pictures don't quite show it, Asher has some great hair! It's actually much darker and thicker than E's.  Everett was for sure a bigger bubs but there are a lot of similarities between the two!  It's so fun to already watch these two together.  Everett is still deciding what the thinks of little brother, but I feel confident that E will continue to grow in his big brother role.

Another common question we have had is, "What did Everett do while we were at the hospital?"  Well, Everett had a BLAST with Uncle James and Aunt Jennifer!  My brother and sister-in-law live five minutes away and were available at a moments notice to help us with E.  Jen spent the night at our house and Everett, James, and Jen spent the weekend together playing hard.  Here are some pics of their time together:

I love this picture.  E loved hanging out at James and Jen's house.
A big highlight for Everett was going to Fritz's, the restaurant where trains bring your food to your table.  E's love for trains is ever growing.
I love the grocery cart picture!
Eating breakfast with Aunt Jen.
James and Jen let Everett pick out a toy to give to Asher.  He picked a soft Snoopy.  This pic was taken after Everett gave Snoopy to baby brother.  So Sweet!
James and Jen did such an awesome job of taking care of E! Everett had so much fun that he keeps asking where James and Jen are! We were so grateful that Everett was well looked after while we were at the hospital.
