Rome

We have reached a point on our trip where we are fairly desperate for some clean clothes.  As a result, Tom and I are kicking it at a laundromat/internet cafe in Rome.  We have about 5ish days left on our European adventure.  So we had to get some clothes for our final push of the trip.

For those of you who have followed along via the blog you've probably noticed that this has been a fast paced trip--lots of things going on in a short amount of time.  This has been awesome because we have had so many great experiences but the hard part is fatigue is rearing its ugly head.  That being said, we're pushing on because today is our last big site seeing day.  Since leaving Florence we made it to Rome.  Yesterday we went to Vatican City and explored the Vatican Museum and St. Peter's Basilica. We ended the night with a classic Italian dinner: pasta and wine.

Today we ventured over to see the Colosseum and the Roman Forum.  We are currently taking a rare afternoon break for laundry and tonight we'll take a walking tour of other classic Rome sites like the Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon.

Parting thoughts: Some of the first movies I want to see when I get back to America are Gladiator (that Colosseum is inspiring) and the Bourne movies.  St. Peter's Basilica is hands down the coolest/biggest church I have ever seen.  I thought Notre Dame in Paris was killer, but St. Peter's is mind blowing.
