Guten Tag (Hello in German)

We've determined that internet access may be patchy at times, so we'll try to throw up some updates as the opportunity presents itself.  Since Prague we've had some great adventures.  Here's what we've been up to:

July 8th: Left our hostel in Prague at 3am (YIKES), got to the airport, flew to Paris.  In Paris we went to Notre Dame, Luxembourg Gardens, Arc de Triumph, went out to a classic French restaurant, and drank some champagne at the Eiffel Tower at night.

July 9th: Went to the Lourve (we saw the Mona Lisa--so cool), Sacre Coure Church (great view of Paris), went out to dinner (Carly ordered "Tarrtar" and when her food was brought out we discovered that she had ordered raw meat.  It looked like a ball of hamburger ready to be thrown on the grill. So funny.), and then we finished off the night with a river boat cruise on the Seine River which took us around to see all the major sights in Paris.

July 10th: This was an interesting day.  We spent about 2+ hours trying to get our rental car (this is a whole story by itself).  Then we had a 7+ hour car ride and we drove through North East France, Southern Beligum, Luxembourg, and then we arrived in Rothenberg, Germany.  When we arrived here we discovered that our hotel reservations were made for the wrong dates (sigh) but luckily Germans are awesome and helped us find another place to stay.  We finished off the day with a classic German meal at a place called "Burgerkeller" and we had German sausage and beer.  We were the only people in the resturant and the owner befriended us, so it made for a really special, fun evening.

July 11th:  We slept in--praise the Lord, we're pretty tired. We'll be kicking it in Rothenberg for a few more hours and then we're heading on to Dachau concentration camp and then to Munich.

Everyone is getting along really well.   It's so fun to travel with friends and to see all these beautiful things!  Some final notes on Paris:  everything was way bigger than I thought.  Like the Eiffel Tower is HUGE and so much more amazing than I expected.  The French eat baguettes like it's nobody's business, and I can see why--they're so cheap and good.  For lunch in Paris we bought cheap baguettes, cheese, wine, and salami and it was one of my favorite meals.

Auf Weidersehen (Goodbye in German).
