On our way back to Missouri we had a layover in Hawaii. It was a challenge to get all of our bags packed but we made it happen without any additional charges (thanks to being SkyMiles members on Delta).
E did a pretty good job of flying--here was the set up we rigged for him on the plane. We found out once we got back to Missouri that he had a double ear infection, which is probably why the last few flights we had with him were a bit rougher than normal.Made it to Hawaii...nap time!
We went to Waikiki Beach on the island of Oahu.
We met up with our GSIS friends--the Stracke family! Emily and E went to daycare together. It was so great to see them in Hawaii!
Holding hands....so cute!
This was when we were saying goodbye; E kept reaching for Emily's hand. :)
Our baby is not a beach baby. He didn't like the sand or the water all that much. Thus, he stood like a flamingo much of the time. Poor guy...
Playing with a surfboard!
We got to visit Pearl Harbor while on the island.
The Pearl Harbor Memorial resides over the sunken USS Arizona ship. You have to take a boat out to the memorial and you can see the sunken ship under the memorial.
In this pic you can see Battleship Missouri, which also fought in the attack on Pearl Harbor.
E and Daddy on the tour:
E and I while on a walk along the beach. We did a lot of walking as we worked to get E adjusted to the time change!
Our primary job while there was to rest and fight jet lag as much as possible. Honestly, Hawaii was great but it was a blur (jet lag will do that to you).
