baby things

Check out these cute little baby hats a fellow teacher made for us!  They're so cute and so little.  Tom and I have purchased ZERO baby items.  This is partially because I want to see what I get at some upcoming baby showers and partially because I'm waiting to do a lot of baby shopping in America.  It was fun to get these little hats and have a tangible reminder that this boy is on his way!

I get asked a lot how I'm feeling these days, so I wanted to give a quick update to say that I'm doing really well.  I feel like more normal self aside from three things: I get more tired at night than usual, I'm hungry more often, and my belly is growing exponentially.  We're really thankful for a smooth second trimester so far, especially since the first was so rough!

We're still searching for a name...send us your suggestions.  :-)

The end of year countdown is officially beginning: 8 weeks until summer.

Grandma Bonnie is voting for Thomas Michael. I told her yesterday that you aren't naming the baby Michael...no other comment from her. I kind of little traditional and Biblical names. Did you finish looking through the family tree names?
How about Jeremiah? I like Henry and Samuel. John is a family name in many generations.
You'll come up with something!
Of course, there is always, Truman!

Bonnie! Look at this great baby name blog... http://swistlebabynames.blogspot.com/

Our name question was featured there, too! Which was so cool.

The only baby name book I really like is called Baby Name Wizard - its great because if you like one certain girl name, you can see what similar "flavor" or brother names would be for her.

Mom, I like traditional/Biblical names too...the problem is that after working with high school kids for so long a lot of those traditional names get ruined. It only takes one kid to turn me off to using a name. :-)

Bethany--I saw that blog when she did your daughter's name, but I need to look around it more. Have you decided on a name yet?

The hats are adorable! Seeing as how this is a Meyer kid, chances are they won't fit or won't fit for very long!!! :) Names, hmmmm. It's not so easy picking a baby name, is it? I like short ones, personally. Cole, Jonah, Boaz, Micah, Amos, Joel, Isaac. You could name him Henry, call him Hank. Being named after a dog worked for Indiana Jones! :)

Lori,
Thanks for the suggestions! We love the name Micah too, but we don't love the double "m" sound of "Micah Meyer." I think we have about three names now we like, so we may just have to wait until the little guy comes out and see what name fits him best?
